Welcome to Pink Ribbon Stable Ladies !

New Women's Racing Syndicate supporting Breast Cancer Foundation...

Comprised of women dedicated to the fight against breast cancer, Pink Ribbon Stable is quickly establishing itself on the local thoroughbred racing scene.

Pink Ribbon Stable is managed by Dixie Jacobson, president of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society in British Columbia and a successful breeder/owner in the northwest for many years.

“We are very proud. It is a big honour,” says Dixie. “We’re a group of women who got together to see what we could do. There are a lot of really tremendous people involved. Everyone strives for a future without breast cancer.”...The Game, fall, 2004

FIRST START...A winner for Pink Ribbon Stable !

Saturday. October 22, 2006 ..."Making her first start for her new connections, Pink Ribbon Stable, Tracy Bell, Sasha Keeling, Brenda Kinsella, Lindsay McLeod and Mary Martin's three-year-old filly, Badgetts Star (Bold Badgett), made short work of a $25,000 open claiming event ran as the last race Saturday at Vancouver's Hastings Racecourse.

Sporting colourful new silks proudly donated by Anne Gregory of Heritage Racing Designs, the Toni Jacobson-trained filly looked the part as she confidently strode in to the paddock for her first start north of the border. At Badgetts Star's side was groom and cancer survivor Cecilia Maass, another proud female member of the Pink Ribbon Team.

Breaking alertly, the Cal-bred bay miss made the lead from the outside on the first turn, extended her advantage down the backstretch and was ridden out to a comfortable 1/2 length victory by Patricia Trimble. The promising young filly completed the 6 1/2 furlongs over a track rated good in 1:19.09 and paid a popular $5.50 to her many supporters.
